SC 2000 Cement is the result of our successful development of a universal cold vulcanizing cement. Heretofore, two different types of cement were needed to splice belts having different fabric carcasses and different rubber compounds; one cement for fabric and a different cement for rubber to rubber. With SC 2000 Cement + UTR-20 Hardener, belts of rubber, nylon, neoprene, nitrile, with any combination of polyester, rayon, nylon or dacron fabric can be spliced. SC 2000 + UTR-20 will bond the fabric to fabric and also the various rubber compounds to each other. Result, one cement for rubber to rubber, rubber to fabric and fabric to fabric - and rubber to metal and fabric to metal! SC 2000 + UTR-20 can also be used for belt repair with our new CN bonding layer patching material.
For Belt Splicing: After buffing lapped surfaces, apply a coat of SC 2000 + UTR-20 mixture to the lapped areas with a stiff bristle brush. Allow to dry 30-40 minutes (maybe longer in our Florida humidity). The second coat is then applied and allowed to dry until it is very slightly tacky. Both laps are then placed together and stitched down vigorously. SC 2000 is excellent for heavy duty belting.
For Bonding Rubber to Rubber: If rubber does not have CN bonding layer the rubber must be buffed before application of cement. No solvent is to be used on rubber after buffing, ever. First, a coat of SC 2000 + UTR-20 mixture is brushed on both surfaces and permitted to dry until slightly tacky. Place cemented sheets together and stitch down vigorously. When bonding rubber that has a CN bonding layer to rubber that does not have a bonding layer, only the rubber without bonding layer must be buffed. Apply two coats of cement on the buffed rubber and one coat on the rubber with bonding layer.
Providing all the advantages and strength of our SC2000 cement, C320 cold vulcanizing cement conforms to FDA standards for use in food grade applications. Developed for use in splicing light and heavy industrial belting, C320 is used for splicing fabric and rubber belts.
The non-flammable and versatile C320, used wtih UTR-20 Hardener, will bond a wide range of elastomers commonly used in the food processing industry and in other areas where food grade adhesive material is specified. For example, C320 is used for bonding cleats to belting and pulley lagging to metal!
